Pen Guy Fridge Magnets for the Ex-terns

Here is Mara, Elise and Jeff three of the four really neat ex-terns, long story but when they left I made them some Pen Guy fridge magnets as a going away present. I glued a pen on a toy car, with a magnet glued underneath it. Only four of these are in existence today which will be worth something one day, long after I am gone, I hope.

Why I started the Mercedes Pens Art Car

I was inspired to do an art car after reading a book about art cars in 2004. June of 2006 the idea to use pens to cover my car came one morning in flash. With my first twenty pens a tube of 100% silicon glue and a flash light I begun my fun journey into the art car world.

The car is an 1981 Mercedes Benz 300SD Diesel which was named by my friend “Mercedes Pens”. I also came up with the name “The Pen Guy” because he wanted to create a recognizable identity for those who saw him driving around.
He wanted to counteract the negative influences in our society by creating a car that was inspirational, motivational and made people laugh. His vision is to inspire an motivate others to pursue their life long dreams and visions. He does this by driving around, talking with people and speaking at community events.

The Mercedes Pens and The Pen Guy is an event that everyone can take a part in. When you donate your new and used pens you participate in creating a fun, wonderful and inspiring car that people from many walks of life can enter into and enjoy.

So far The Pen Guy has been asked to speak at local schools, community events and private parties.

This Google pen glued to the driver side headliner, is a reminder that without Google life would be a sad and boring place. With out Google’s search engine we would alone, lost and without anyone to find us and check out our blogs and websites. Thank you Google, because I once was lost, and now I am found.

Jack Nicklaus – British Open Farewell Pen

In 2005 Jack Nicklaus played his last major tournament at the British Open. My friend Jon was there watching this amazing golfer play St. Andrews Links in Scottland, and all he could think of was getting me a pen from there that I could glue on my Mercedes Pens Art Car. I was glad for the pen and the fact that for a very brief moment I was on the same par with Jack in his thoughts. This pen is located on the first row on passenger side door right in the middle. Thank you Jon for the pen and thank you Jack for your talents.

Pen Covered Ugly Mailbox

The Ugly Mailbox blog has recently become one of my favorite web sites. Its down right addictive and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s a way to know my mail box isn’t as bad as those “other” guys. But why on earth would I cover my mail box in pens? It could be a way to prove I can “out ugly” the best of them. If I can’t win the prettiest mailbox, maybe I can win the ugly mailbox instead, plus now I have an excess of pens collected and a bit of free time to think of knew surfaces to adhere this wonderful invention we call the pen.
