Its been a busy week with family my graphic design business, and at Broken.FM as a DJ. This Friday May 15 is the Broken FM Benefit Concert at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma CA at 8:00 PM. This show will help raise money to pay for monthly tower fees and keep Broken.FM on air. There will be some really cool bands featuring Burn The Ruin, Facing Binary and most of the Broken DJ’s will be there and my self as well with the famous Mercedes Pens Art Car covered in 10,000 pens. Fatt Matt from the power hour asked me to come and he promised I would be able to park my art car right in front. I will be there fully dressed in my pen outfit and my hardhat covered in pens greeting people and passing out flyers. We are going to have a raffle and give away an iPod, cd’s, and a brand new Broken.FM T-shirt. Hope to see you all there and bring your old pens if you have them.

Mercedes Pens at Maker Fair 2009 – Again this Year

4th Annual Maker Faire Bay Area, 4x6 Flyer
Its that time again, I just sign the release from and will be headed off to maker faire May 30 & 31, 2009. Here is a quote from their site:

The World’s Largest DIY Festival
A two-day, family-friendly event to MAKE, create, learn, invent, CRAFT, recycle, think, play and be inspired by celebrating arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology.

I will headed down San Mateo with my Mercedes Pens Car covered in more pens then I can possibly imagine. I am still collecting new and used pens and have managed to hoard a entire trunk full again this year. And now that I have more time on my hands due to the fact that I was recently “downsized” due to the “bad economy” I can spend more time working my Freelance Graphic Design Business called Envisionary Design and take more breaks. That means I can go out to the garage and glue more pens on my Mercedes Pens any time I want. My goal is to go nuts and completely cover the inside of the car with a brand new layer of pens. The Mercedes Pens now has 265k miles and needs some TLC. The front left window needs a brand new lifter, new rear brakes and an oil change. I also need to replace the motor mounts, shocks and valve cover seal to name a few. If anyone wants to help out with a donation of money or parts please feel free and let me know, I would love to talk to you. Or if you need a professional freelance graphic designer with 15 years experience email me at: mercedes.pens[at]yahoo.com.

The Pen Guy Show on Broken.FM

My dream of one day becoming a radio talk show host has finally come true. This morning I went on air at 7:00 am on a tiny little station called Broken.fm. Don’t ask how this all happened but it came to pass in the most amazing way. I met the owners a month or so ago, a couple who got the vision to start an alternative christian rock station some years ago and had been running it automatically out of their closet for the past two years. They finally moved into the Wells Fargo Center in Santa Rosa by invitation from Santa Rosa Christian School who wanted to start an internship program for their students. It so happened that they were looking for radio personalities and approached me to do the morning show from 7-8:30am. Last night I went over to the station for some training and next thing I know Keith get me on air for a little practice run to check the settings and make sure it sounded OK and went on air this morning. One of the biggest goals this month is to raise $18,000 to finish up some construction, pay some old debt and cover the monthly operating expenses. We are looking for Broken.fm day sponsors in the next couple of weeks who will buy one minute spots to promote their business and other organizations. I believe that when the word gets out the station will not only make it but will experience amazing growth.
